Mission:
Coordinate skilled trades’ resources daily to assure plant production and facilities are kept in good operating conditions meeting plant safety, quality and efficiency requirements. Inspecting equipment, performing preventive/predictive maintenance, assigning tasks, setting schedules, supervising repairs, and enforcing work rules and safety policies. Oversee and coordinate the trades personnel who maintain and repair; mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, tooling and other manufacturing equipment and building systems. Set direct report priorities in daily activities to meet and improve performance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares work schedules, assigns repairs and manages assignments until completion while minimizing overtime and production stoppages.
- Coaches, counsels and manages performance of direct reports.
- Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment, tools and machinery.
- Arranges for, coordinates and manages appropriate third-party contractor support, in conjunction with plant operations, as needed.
- Prepares and manages department budgets as needed.
- Enforces safety compliance, effective housekeeping practices, and all plant policies/ procedures including PPE requirements.
- Monitors and controls supplies and equipment; orders supplies and tools as necessary; prepares documents for equipment procurement; prepares specifications and contracts for outside services.
- Coordinates training of resources as required in; best maintenance practices, best safety methods, practices, and procedure, as well as all MIOSHA/ OSHA requirements/standards.
- Develops and implements preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities/ production tools and equipment.
- Coordinates construction projects, remodels, and other special projects as required.
- Assists in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals/ quotes, and reports.
- Develops, monitors and records KPI’s to measure department performance and improvement.
- Effectively communicates and coordinates with Engineering, Production and MPL team members.
- Audits completed work for thoroughness and timeliness.
